Rory McIlroy has heckler ejected at the British Open
Just three holes away from his third career major championship, Rory McIlroy didn't have any patience for rambunctious fans making noise during his backswing. McIlroy hit a booming drive at the par-5 16th, but immediately turned around and pointed out a fan in the crowd with his driver. McIlroy came to the tee three shots in front of Sergio Garcia, who played a magnificent front nine to pressure on McIlroy but bogeyed the 15th.
The fan was led away from the hole by four policemen. Earlier in the round, a heckler was yelling "Sergio is going to catch you" at McIlroy every shot, but it is unclear if this is the same heckler. Either way, McIlroy wasn't going to take any chances with two of the biggest tee shots of his life yet to come.
